Gigabyte just launched a range of new motherboards designed to support Ryzen X3D processors. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen X3D-focused boards – ASRock launched something similar earlier this year. Gigabyte’s new X870E AORUS motherboards have been introduced and come with support for X3D Turbo Mode 2.0, which targets a 25% performance boost for gaming.
Every component in your gaming PC can improve performance. While you should focus on finding the best GPU and CPU for your build, having a high-end motherboard does make a difference. For AMD users, X870 motherboards are some of the best out there and are a step above the popular, more budget-friendly B850 or last-gen B650 chipsets.
While these are the first four to officially appear online, two more models are reportedly in the pipeline. We know this due to material shared online, confirming the existence of the X870E AORUS Xtreme X3D (the fifth AORUS model in the series) and the X870E AERO G X3D. Pricing details for both of these models are yet to be made clear and they aren’t currently listed on Gigabyte’s website like the others.
According to Gigabyte, X3D Turbo Mode 2.0 “delivers enhanced gaming and multitasking performance over the first generation”. The video below showcases the original version of Turbo Mode, with a ~5% performance boost with the Ryzen 7 9800X3D when the feature is turned on.
